Itinerary

DAY 1 | ARRIVAL IN BUCHAREST

Arrival at the Otopeni airport of Bucharest where the Romanian guide will meet you. Panoramic tour of Bucharest, exciting capital city that was nicknamed between the two wars “the little Paris”-visit: the Village Museum – Eco-museum created in 1936, then we continue to visit the Patriarchate Church, then photo stop at the colossal Palace of the Parliament-the second largest building in the world (after Pentagon), the most famous of the city and symbol in excess of the megalomania of a man. Late afternoon in the old town, back to the hotel and overnight.

DAY 2 | BUCHAREST – TRAGOVISTE – SIBIU

Departure on road to Targoviste-capital of Wallachia from 1418 to 1659. Tour panoramic view of the city and visit of the old military barracks turned into museum where the husband couple Ceausescu was shot on December 25 of 1989 year. And which rocked the history of Romania. Entry into Transylvania, former province of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Arrival in Sibiu, European capital of culture in 2007 and discovery on foot of the city and visit of the Romano-Catholic church, then visit of the village of Sibiel. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 | SIBIU – ALBA IULIA – TURDA – BISTRITA

Departure to Alba Iulia with a citadel isolated by Vauban style walls. City tour of Alba Iulia, then drive to Turda, to visit Turda Salt Mine, whose exploitation has stopped in 1932.  Transfer to Bistrita for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 | BISTRITA – BAIA MARE – VADUL IZEI – SIGHETUL MARMATIEI

Departure In the morning, departure to Baia Mare, stop of Vadul Izei  and visit of St Andrew Orthodox Church, we will arrive to Sighetul Marmatiei, visit the Memorial Museum of the victims of the Communism and of the Resistance. After visiting to museum we continue with a panoramic view of the city, we go back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 | SIGHETUL MARMATIEI – SAPANTA – BRASANA – SIGHETUL MARMATIEI

Departure Discovery of landscape and villages of Maramures. Visit Sapanta cemetery, called “Happy cemetery”, then visit the Barsana wooden church of Orthodox rite – the biggest monastery of the Maramures district. Arrival to Barsana, dinner and overnight

DAY 6 | SIGHETUL MARMATIEI – MOLDOVITA – SUCEVITA - GURA HUMORULUI

Departure in the morning and visit of the wooden church at Carlibaba, then stop at craft workshop of painted eggs in Vama, visit of the monasteries of Moldavita and Sucevita. Dinner and overnight in Gura Humorului.

DAY 7 | GURA HUMORULUI – VORONET - TARGU NEAMT - AGAPIA – PIATRA NEAMT

Departure on road to Voronet, after visiting the monastery we are going to Targu Neamt and visit the church St Archangels, St Nectarios, then stop at Agapia monastery, orthodox nuns located 9 km west to Tagu Neamt, in the Village of Agapia- Neamt County. It was built between 1641-1643 by Romanian hetman Gavril Coci. Arrive in late afternoon in Piatra Neamt, important city known for the lumber trade on the Bistrita River, as well as for its position as Capital of Moldavia province in medieval times. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 8 | PIATRA NEAMT – BICAZ (GORGE) – SIGHISOARA - MEDIAS

Crossing the Bicaz Gorge via the natural dam of Red Lake, arrival to Sighisoara, feudal city admirably preserved. Tour Panoramic with the Clock Tower, visit of the birthplace of Dracula Vlad, father of Vld Tepes said Vlad the Impaler, who inspired the famous character of Dracula to Bram and Church Hill. Dinner and overnight in Medias.

DAY 9 | MEDIAS – VISCRI – BRASOV - PREDEAL

We leave Medias in the morning, and we stop at the citadel of Viscri, Arrival in Brasov, visit of the historic and medieval heart of it, with the square of the council, visit the Black Bhurch (close Monday) or the Orthodox Church. Dinner and overnight in Predeal.

DAY 10 | PREDEAL – BRAN CASTLE – SINAIA (PELES CASTLE) - BUCHAREST

Departure in the morning and visit of the Bran Castle, that is also known as the castle Dracula, then the Peles Castle, the summer residence of Romanian royal family of the Hohenzollern. Arrival to Bucharest, festive dinner with folkloric program, check-in and overnight.

DAY 11 | BUCHAREST - HOME

Breakfast, visit the city or free time for shopping. Transfer to the airport (depending on the flight schedule)
