Itinerary

Day 1 | ARRIVAL IN BUCHAREST

Pick-up from the airport and quick panoramic view of the capital, Bucharest, on our way to the hotel. Check-in and dinner in the hotel.

Day 2 | BUCHAREST – PELES CASTLE – BRAN CASTLE – PREDEAL

This day is dedicated to the visit of 2 castles: Peles and Bran. Peles Castle is located in Sinaia, “the pearl of the Carpathians”, the location of the private residence of the royal family of Romania. We will go in search for the dark prince, Dracula, at Bran Castle. In the afternoon we will have a carriage ride and a traditional Romanian dinner in Moeciu. Accommodation in Predeal.

Day 3 | PREDEAL – PREJMER – HARMAN – BRASOV - PREDEAL

Today we are going to better understand the history of Transylvania by visiting 2 fortified churches of Prejmer and Harman. Back to Brasov where we are going to visit the old city center, the Black, the Rope Street, one of the narrowest streets in Europe, the city gates. Free time for shopping and lunch and then return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 4 | PREDEAL – RED LAKE – CAMPULUNG MOLDOVENESC

Breakfast. We leave the medieval city of Brasov towards beautiful Bucovina, land of spirituality and ancestral traditions. On our way we shall stop to admire a natural wonder, The Red Lake, named like this because of the reddish alluvia (iron oxides and iron hydroxides) deposited in the lake. One of the deepest gorges from Carpathians – Bicaz Gorges is a real rock-climbing paradise. We continue towards Campulung Moldovenesc, in Bucovina. Check-in and dinner at the hotel.

Day 5 | MONASTERIES OF BUCOVINA – PIATRA NEAMT

Breakfast. Visit of the 3 most important orthodox monasteries of Bucovina: Voronet, Sucevita and Moldovita. Free time for lunch, after visit of a black clay pottery house in Marginea. Arrive in late afternoon in Piatra Neamt, important city known for the lumber trade on the Bistrita river, as well as for its position as capital of Moldavia province in medieval times. Check-in and dinner at the hotel.

Day 6 | PIATRA NEAMT – MARASESTI - MUDDY VOLCANOES – BUCHAREST

Breakfast. Today we cross the province of Moldavia from north to south, heading to Bucharest. There is going to be a full day, with visits to Marasesti Mausoleum and to the Muddy volcanos where, due to landslides, deforestation, downpours, and mudflows, there is an eerie and lunar atmosphere in the reservation. Nice opportunity to take incredible pictures! Arrival in Bucharest, check-in and dinner.

Day 7 | VISIT BUCHAREST

Breakfast at the hotel. We begin the tour with the visit of the Parliament Palace, the second largest administrative building in the world, symbol of the communist megalomania, then we visit the Patriarchate. Free time for lunch and we visit the Old City and have some time for shopping. We continue our visit by bus and arrive in the north part of Bucharest where we are going to admire the rural architecture of the open-air Village Museum. Festive farewell dinner with folklore program.

Day 8 | FINAL DAY

Breakfast. Visit or free time for shopping. Transfer for the airport (depending on the flight schedule).
